N1
〜をおいて〜ない
Meaning
Emphasizes that apart from a certain thing, there exists nothing else that satisfies the condition or that can be highly evaluated. It is used when highly valuing something as irreplaceable, as in 「彼をおいて他にいない」. A related expression is 「何をおいても」, meaning "before anything else, first of all," which differs in that it speaks of priority.
