N2

Meaning

With the meaning "if seen from the standpoint of 〜" or "if one thinks while standing on the side of 〜," it indicates a certain person's viewpoint or feelings. It is mostly used to state that person's own circumstances or feelings, which are hard for a third party to see. It attaches to words referring to people, as in 「親にしてみれば」「彼にすれば」. The three forms are almost synonymous. Note that it differs in meaning from 「にしたところで」 ("even 〜" / "even in the case of 〜").

Examples
From a parent's point of view, a child is a source of worry no matter how old they get.
From his perspective, he probably did it thinking it was for the best.
From a child's point of view, being suddenly told to move is troubling.
From the recipient's side, it can sometimes be an unwelcome kindness.
