Meaning
Indicates conforming closely to and acting in accordance with facts, rules, or actual conditions. A formal expression for following a standard, as in 「現実に即して」 (in line with reality) or 「事実に即して」 (based on the facts).
Examples
- 理想論ではなく、現実に即して対策を考えるべきだ。 We should think about countermeasures based on reality, not idealism.
- 事実に即して、ありのままを報告してください。 Please report the situation as it is, based on the facts.
